CORVANA
Philosophy

Thought and Memory.

The balance behind every decision we make.

In the old Norse tradition, Odin kept two ravens. Every morning, Huginn and Muninn — Thought and Memory — flew out over the world. Every evening they returned and told him what they had seen.

Odin was not wise because he knew everything. He was wise because of what the two ravens brought him each day. Thought looked ahead and weighed what was possible. Memory held on to what had been learned, often at a cost.

Neither was enough on its own. Thought without memory repeats old mistakes. Memory without thought never moves forward.

The old poem says Odin feared for both ravens, but feared more for Memory. Ideas are plentiful. Experience is rare.

Corvana is built on that balance. We take positions with care, after looking far and remembering well. We value patience over noise, judgement over speed, and decisions that still look right years later.

We do not need to be seen. Like the ravens, we watch, we learn, and we bring back what matters.

Thought, in practice

  • Independent research before consensus
  • Scenario modelling and stress testing
  • Understanding the technology, not only the business plan
  • Asking what the asset is worth if the story is wrong

Memory, in practice

  • Decades of cycles in technology, energy and commodities
  • Knowing how deals fail, not only how they succeed
  • Respect for counterparties, contracts and law
  • Keeping our word as an asset in itself

Look far. Remember well. Decide once.
